spines, pelvises, and feet down.
hand, skulls, ribcages, and vertebrae to go.
the next 4 sets are going to be larger than the last 3 because the art store ran out of the smaller canvases. in fact, ribcages and vertebrae will each be on one large canvas as a group image (3 views of a ribcage, 6 examples of vertebrae).
this is a really strange set of paintings i'm doing, as i have never really even thought about doing bones before outside of a foundation art course. the spines painting popped into my mind one night and i ran with it. it turned out pretty well, and then the option of doing a group show came up. i wanted to put up something other than my standard photography (though, if i have enough room, i'll probably put up some photography as well) and decided to do more bone sets. they're fairly straightforward and fun to do, and i love how ink looks (very rich colours and good control). they're almost technical medical paintings with a dark artistic twist. it'd be nice to sell a few.
i'll be putting up images of them all before sunday. i'm getting excited.
