Another one of the baby rats died. I noticed it had been pushed from the nest as I was taking one of the girls to the vet so I brought it along too. This one was always the runty one and never seemed to be doing well so it wasn't unexpected...but to see its tiny body struggle for life...
I held it in my hand all the way there and while in the office. The doctor tried giving it some glucos to see if it would drink/eat but it didn't do anything. Shortly there after it passed away while nestled in my hand. At least it got to taste sweetness and know love in its short and tiny life.
My girl needs to take some medicine so I get to give her a little bit morning and night.
I don't think she likes the apple flavored medicine. Unles she shows "like" by rubbing her face on the ground and swatting at the syringe with both hands while making an "ucky" face.
All of the remaining rats seem to be doing well, even the two babies. I'm leaving their cages open all night as a treat. They should be fine, rats are actually smart enough to not stray too far from their food and water, and I figure they could use the activity.
I hope everyone is doing well. Please feel free to wish the best to my beautiful girlfriend who is having a rough time right now. She's a wonderful girl and deserves only the best in life.
