this weekend.....
played two shows, the first show we didn't go over too well and i think that it was legitimate because we sounded like shit. we hadn't practiced together in 2 months.
the second show we sounded a whole lot better. from my viewpoint i think it might've been one of our better performances....but....no one watched. it was cool having nearly 200 people at a show, but while we played maybe 20 people were inside.
we didn't get paid at all. i probably spent close to $100 on food and gas...not too bad, but i don't have a job. i only had $200 to live off of until i can start working again, which is who knows when. hopefully really soon. the shows were also expensive in the form of time, i probably could've gotten a fair amount of school work done in that time and also caught up on my sleep.

there were positives for me about the shows though. although the crowd didn't seem to dig us all that much, the people in the bands did. people from bands whose music i really enjoy were complimenting me for my music. we got to hang out with the guys from as hope dies a little bit. it was great talking to them to learn about the touring experience...the highs and lows...the things we learned from talking to them made the whole weekend worthwile. it was also great hearing them play 2 nights in a row, they have a sound that i would love for my future band to have something similar to them.

another great positive, unrelated to shows, was spending the night with my girlfriend. i wish i could've spent more time with her, though.

so all in all it was a good, but expensive weekend.

now, back to real life.........
