I've finally figured out what I need to make myself happy.

It kind of came to me when I was laying around listening to music.

In a nutshell, all I really need to be happy in life is my own place, and a faithful 4-legged companion.

I was suprised to discover that it was a very short and very simple list.

I mean, there are other things that would enhance my happiness, such as a btter job, having music to listen to, a comfy couch, etc etc, but those are more creature comforts that aren't really critical to me enjoying who I am and what life brings me.

Of course, attaining the two "keys" to a happy life will be difficult. First I have to finish paying off my consolidation loan, once that's done; then I can apply for a mortgage and get my new puppy. So for now I will have to work hard and scrimp and save to reach this goal. But, it's something to work for. Which is also good, because I had lost direction in my life for a while.
