I go out of my way to never have any kind of human contact at school and it works out pretty well.

I had hoped that my writing skills (or at least my confidence in them) would've improved enough for me to write an entire paragraph without feeling the need to delete it immediately upon completion. It was a pretty irrational thought, in retrospect. You don't improve by ignoring the problem. Nonetheless, I'm slightly bummed (it's not a big deal).

Well, thier parents are probably floating, too. A lot of people in New Orleans are too poor to leave-- no car, no money to rent one or take a train-- or unable to comprehend how dangerous this storm was going to be. And some of those parents are just dumb as pigeon shit, I suppose.

No. I haven't been afraid to die since I was very young, and when I woke up today, my belief that there is no such thing as "the end" came right back. I've always believed that existence is eternal. Seriously, the absolute terror I felt in that dream was completely new to me.
I wish my dad would leave so I could get acclimated to my situation at my leisure, but it'd be rude to tell him to go and he is just trying to help (albeit in an overbearing sort of way).
