America is virtually littered with carved stones, metal plaques and signposts claiming to mark the exact historical spot something was created, someone famous died or some other historical event… even entire towns have been named after the supposed hallowed ground. Yet, a closer look reveals not all is copasetic in the annals of cookie cutter America. Many claim to be the pioneer of something at once all over the country!
