It used to be a long running joke in my fraternity days that if we saw someone getting trashed at a party we’d tell them to hold on to the Earth very tight… it’s spinning and you might fly off 😆
Well, in reality the Earth is actually spinning faster, faster than when you were a kid, faster than when you began reading this, so much so that Scientists physicists and technical engineers are considering subtracting time from our normal 24 hour day to make up for the massive de-synchronization of so many events if the lost time is not properly accounted for.
