Iām posting this because you should know the warnings and dangers of the Zero Day virus are real... it happened to me.
It started innocently enough, I was playing a game on my iPhone. It was a new game and so I didnāt want to waste the cash on running the ad free version until I was sure I would keep playing. The ads were the generic ātry thisā stuff about other games by the same developer... until an ad for a doorbell security system popped up. It was a spoof š„ø !!!
Normally when Iām wanting to zen out with a game that doesnāt require massively technical hand-eye-brain coordination (this was a card game) I put on my Bluetooth headphones š§, dial up a favorite Spotify playlist š¶, crack open a beeršŗ, fire up a doobie š„¦šØ, and chill with the game for an hour or two ā³š. If it has ads I always configure my phone to silent/do not disturb mode, and the app to silent mode, so my music plays uninterrupted.
But this fake ad corrupted all that. It broke through my phone settings and blared the stupid tune jingle full blast into my headphones - I got so distracted that when I hastily tried to click the āXā to close the ad I accidentally opened it. šØ And that, as they say, was that. All my saved passwords were instantly stolen, my phoneās login corrupted, I couldnāt open any of my email accounts, and my browser was hit with a redirect virus that started showing really weird search results... like when I was following the US news story about a breach in a toxic drain pond being dumped into a pristine bay I got off the chain stuff like āsee the latest Russian bikini fashionsā and āwhatās up with Justin Bieberā and a breaking news update that was dated April 22, 2021 š
ššš So... seriously yāall, BEWARE! This shit is for realzzz! Be really really careful what you click on no matter how innocent it seems. Itās taking days for my phone to get straight again. Still waiting for the last update to fix everything. Then I have to go change all my passwords and keep monitoring my financial stuff. š Total Drag.
