I saw her a few times in the 60's at the 2 O'clock Club on Baltimore's ubiquitous "Block" back in its old school Burlesque heyday. She later retired, bought the Club, and became unofficially known locally as Baltimore's Abassadress of Sleaze .
Coincidentally, when the stage shows eventually gave way to the jukebox, the poles, the go-go bars, I struck up a fascinating years long friendship with Salvatore, her then unemployed piano player. I feel blessed and fulfilled by his daily stories of Blaze's antics both on and back stage. It became all the rage for patrons to visit a florist for a single long stem red rose, then toss it at Blaze's feet as she closed her show with a finale of titty jiggles ... just for the sweetest of chances she might pick up the one you tossed and blow you a kiss and invite you backstage for an autographed print and precious few minutes of personal chatter ~ or perhaps a bit more of her show finaleš~ ... those were Truly Magic Timesš¹
