It was a Time, was a poem that I had recently wrote while I was sipping some homemade Sangrea and smoking my pipe with some my favorite tobacco named Nougat. Mixture of honey and vanilla aroma. The evening was cool, with a soft breeze coming from the Monterey Bay. The sky was very clear with the stars sprakling so nicely above. I began to ponder on those years spent in the Military and when I was much younger. Then the words took form and here is the poem. I hope you enjoy.


This is the day we came to tell many tales
to one another.
We came not to boast what was in our younger days,
but to share those moments that never seem to have an end.
There weren't oceans vast enough nor mountains tall enough
neither were difficult to conquer like the many women in our lives.
There were not enough things in the world to fill our plates.
Our loins were always burning with lust and our hearts were
seared with many passions.
Time and energy were endless.
Our appetites never seemed sated and our
thirst never quenched.
Our minds and were mere sponges, ready, and able
to absorb every fine detail and information.
It was a time of pure innocence and joy.
