Money frustrates me, especially when it seems to needlessly be in the middle of "solid" friendship. I bought a concert ticket for a friend to hang out with me at the show. She told me up front that she couldn't afford it... I said fine, pay me back when you can.

I'm pretty sure I made it clear that I wasn't too worried about paying me back: the ticket cost me $75, and if I do have a price for friendship it's a lot higher than that. She told me she'd pay me after her next cheque, which was totally cool. Two pay cheques later, she'll barely answer my texts or see me and I'm totally confused. I asked her to go out for drinks, she said she couldn't. A while later, I asked her if we could talk about the cash, and she never responded.

I don't give a shit about the money. It's nothing: I can spend that much on a night out and have less fun then I did with her at the concert. She's the very blunt and strongly opinionated type, so for her to just not acknowledge it or tell me anything saddens and frustrates me. If she told me straight up that she can't afford it, I'd be cool with it. But she isn't saying anything at all...

I've seen money issues ruin friendships and families, and I refuse to ever let that happen with me. I just don't understand why she can't have the gonads to tell me honestly. If she feels that I'd value a friendship at $75, then she clearly doesn't have basic common respect for me and it isn't something I'd ever have expected from her.
