Okay so here is the dilemma... Well it can't really be considered a dilemma, more of a quandry (ooohh big word I know).
I have been trying to get a few things at an Ex's house for well... over a year now. She plays games with me, giving me the thought that maybe I can get them back. Normally my gypsy blood doesn't care too much for "stuff" but in this case it's some large objects, like a bass rig, and a wood chipper I got on loan from my boss at work. I know it's my fault for not dealing with it right away but I'm a guy, we tend to put off crappy things till the last minute, and here it is... the last minute.
So I finally just laid into her with the long and short of it being "Just let me get my stuff back and we can go on living our lives however we see fit, because from then on out I dont' want you in mine".
I get back this verbose response about how "not nice" that was, and how she has a new boyfriend etc...etc...etc... I mean what the hell?
bottom line, I screwed up, not in the fact that avoiding her is the best policy, but that I didn't get my stuff away from her game playing quick enough.
How does one go about getting your stuff back from someone who just wants to play games with you? Or do you just get the important part, the woodchipper so your boss doesn't kick your ass, and call the rest a casualty of war?

I actually know the answer to this.
You have to attack the situation very calmly and methodically. I should really answer this by sending you the last letter I sent to my ex to get my stuff back...It worked so well.
In a nutshell I told her if she wants the burning and lasting image of her to be as a thief, a liar and a cheat then keep the stuff. I would personally like to think of her in a better light.
