Seriously, I know smoking is bad for you. However, the (growing) fringe of thinkers who predict an eventual move toward prohibition are begining to win me over. There is an all out attack going on. No one really seems to care that the initial study (THE talking point for anti-smoking activists for quite a while) on the effects of second hand smoke has been proven all but dead wrong. Officially, by my understanding, a non-smoker who is exposed daily to second-hand smoke has, on average, just under 1% more of a chance of being diagnosed with the big C than someone who is not. The major players in the war on cigarettes know this, thus their swift transition to all-out-attack mode. I realize it's obtrusive and nasty to those who don't smoke, so I do my best to be considerate. But I really think things are getting out of hand.

I live in a country where we wheel 500 pound people out of their homes on fucking gurneys on a weekly basis. I'm fucking sure TRUTH ads air between ads for cheetohs and Burger King.

While I'm at it..........next to the drug war, seatbelt enforcement is the biggest waste of police manpower and manhours that has ever existed. Someone is getting raped somewhere!!!!!!!! Who gives a Christ if I fly through my windshield. Fight some fucking crime!!!!!!!



A litlle Over/Under: How long until an American Soldier shoots and kills a would-be border crosser somewhere in the vicinity of the Arizona desert. I've got 7 months. It's going to happen. And it's going to be ugly. There are certainly many places I'm happy not to be at the moment, but America is getting scarier by the nanosecond.
