This war. This asshole of a President. This state of fear we are living in. It's getting too damn close to me.
My friend's brother is being sent to Iraq. He joined the National Gaurd to pay for school, and now he's being shipped into the fire that still has no clear motive behind it (or at least, the media doesn't know the motive). He will be spending a year there, and that's if Bush doesn't get re-elected and force people to stay longer than their time like he did a few weeks ago.
I want to be optimistic about this, but it's so fucking hard. Last year at this time, we were just about to enter the war. I was fighting on the streets, trying to make a difference, but it fell upon deaf ears. I tried to educate others about the world around them, hoping they would get the hint to stand up, but few do. Why? Are we so apathetic as to sit back and not care? Just let the corprate whores keep making their money and ruining our lives?
"If you aren't pissed off, you aren't paying attention."
Ahmen. I don't like Kerry, and I feel bad that I'm resigned to "anyone but Bush," but he has to go. What has he done in the last 4 years? Entered us into a war that half of us didn't want and the other half was just lapping up his lies about WMD, killed the environment even more than I thought possible, send us into a recession and not do a damn to take us out, and drove our National Debt higher than I can't even comprehend. He's limited women's rights, he's trying to limit gay rights even more than they are now (and who thought that was possible!), and he's given enough money to that little company Dick Chaney used to be CEO of... now what was it called again? Oh yeah, Haliburton.
I'm angry, but I'm just as scared. What is it going to be like if Dubya has four more years to fuck up our lives? What if this war with Iraq doesn't end soon? Will I still have the right to choose after the next four years? Will my wonderful, beautiful friends not be able to marry just because they are gay?
Peace, we need you more than ever...

No 'normal' person with any common sense would vote for Bush.
In fact it takes a truly Evil person to support that guy.
