Another weekend comes to a close and I have a pile of stuff to get done this upcoming week. However, even though I've had little time for any R&R I'm feeling pretty pumped. Did a Visual Poem for my film class last week and I impressed myself with the results. So now I'm pretty stoked on tackling my personal project for that class, 5-8 minutes of whatever topic I want using whatever medium I want. The creative juices are starting to bubble in anticipation.

I'm becoming more convinced this is the right path for me but am getting tired of hiding things from my family. Regrettably, they wouldnt understand the path I am about to take. Like a lot of people they come from the school of thought that you go to school, get a job, get married, buy a house, and remain static until retirement. Consequently, Im pretty sure they would think I'm nuts contemplating such a drastic career and life path change at this point in my life. Oh well I have my niece who understands where Im coming from and remains my confidant.

Anyway, I went to Three... Extremes at the RPL theater Friday night. It consists of three 40 minute films by Fruit Chan, Park Chan-wook, and Taksahi Miike. I'm still trying to decide if I liked the Taksahi Miike film I think I do but it definitely wasn't a clear cut easy to follow narrative film. Fruit Chan's was so so but I really liked the Park Chan-wook film. It was an excellent example of dark comedy but I do think the very end was a little weak. Kind of felt like it was okay maybe I didn't shock you enough so I throw this in for the closing.

I stumbled across a photo blog today while looking for photos of the Regina Twin Towers for a project, une adventure , and have to say this gal has one of the best photographic eyes I've come across. Makes my work look pathetic but I found it inspiring and that feeds improvement. Makes me really really want to upgrade my old trusty 35mm SLR to a digital SLR. I'm thinking the Cannon EOS would do just fine smile.
