The boy came to realize that his brain hadn't melted, but had instead been stolen. Naturally this realization came slowly, as it should to one whose brain had been stolen. He checked his nose to see if it had been removed through the Egyptian mummification technique. He checked his ears to see if insects had burrowed in to steal a piece at a time. He felt at the base of his skull for the types of holes his eight grade science teacher had said the feds would bore in to insert their mind-controlling devices. There were no obvious signs of removal. But the brain was gone -- not goo-ified like previously thought -- and answers were required.

Where did the brain go? And is it coming back?
