I've suddenly become enamored with the idea of writing a novel in second person future tense. I was thinking that the gimmick of the novel would be that it's a primer for idealistic college students coming down from the Ivory tower and becoming disillusioned with the juggernaught that is the daily grind of dehumanizing work. It'd have to be comedic in nature, of course.
My other concern is that it might get unwieldy. I mean, most of the passages would read like:
"You'll find comfort in the warm glow of the television after these days; something pleasant will be found in the sensation of slowly sinking into your faux leather easy chair and letting your brain slowly leak from your ears. When your coworkers ask why you watch so much t.v. at home, you won't tell them it's because of them."
I'm not entirely sure that I could keep the style up for an entire novel. Certainly a short story would be possible, but then it'd be easy to laugh off as a masturbatory exercise. A novella might be interesting, but I wouldn't be able to do anything with a novella after I finished. And something like this might not be saleable even in a novel form.
Just kicking the idea around. Nothing will probably come from it, but it's occupying my headspace for the moment.

Seems like you should at least attempt the novella.
