Though I'm not really a fan of National Lampoon's Animal House (having found, for some inexplicable reason, that I much preferred the thousands of movies it spawned) whenever it comes on, I find myself compelled to watch until the Delta Probation Hearing scene, which contains perhaps the best comedic line reading and reaction shot in all of campus cinema. When it becomes apparent that the Deltas are in deep trouble at the hearing, Otter gets up to have his say and says:
"Ladies and gentlemen, I'll be brief. The issue here is not whether we broke a few rules, or took a few liberties with our female party guests - we did."
then he winks at the Dean whose reaction always makes me smile.
Everything after that point in the movie has absolutely no appeal for me, but if I catch it at any point before that, I have to watch.
