For some reason, my favorite song from "The Wall" has always been "When the Tigers Broke Free," which wasn't included on the album (but was the b-side for the single "Bring the Boys Back Home"). The two lines that always struck me as particularly sharp were:
"They were all left behind/most of them dead, the rest of them dying"
and
"And that's how the High Command took my Daddy from me."
I still maintain that the album would've worked much better as a single (eliminating most of the useless tracks and having him commit suicide at the end instead of lose his mind at the trial), but it's one of those albums I always go back to. And I don't even like the Floyd that much.
