(i) I'm not the only one who does a full-body quiver every time I see the commercials for The Swan, am I?

(ii) Am I really missing some deeper layer to Will Ferrell's comedy? Others find him hilarious; I find him tedious. I just don't understand the appeal.

(iii) How is it that I haven't seen Picnic at Hanging Rock before now? Why was I not told about this film? And would reading the final chapter of the book really ruin the effect of the tale?

(iv) Why do people continue to roll out the old "the American public is more comfortable letting children watch violence than sex" observation/argument as if it was unique or useful? Everyone understands that it's a situation that makes no sense. But pointing out that absurdity is like pointing out that Dick Clark hasn't aged in fifty years.

(v) I've come to the final bits of thesis writing. If I disappear either my brain has melted and I'm in a wine cellar somewhere wearing only a loin cloth, watching endless reruns of The Golden Girls, thinking, "The Bea Arthur was probably hot as a younger man," or I seduced the wrong undergrad and ended up on the wrong side of a surprisingly illegal jellybean smuggling operation somewhere in the frozen tundra of Canada.

1. I'm not too sure about that
2. Some things he's done has been great. Especially the clothing skit on SNL with the tiny cell phone, the motorized wheelchair, and the polka dotted sweater.
3. I guess I'm lacking knowledge on that one too
4. Security maybe
5. Jellybean smuggling operation, have I heard this before??
