- My headspace has been filled with curious distractions for quite some time. I have to hope that lucidity is on the horizon.

- Rewatching Bram Stoker's Dracula I was struck by how much I enjoyed Anthony Hopkins' Van Helsing. It's a delightfully madcap perfomance that can't help but steal every scene that he's in. In the novel, Van Helsing is capable of understanding what's going on because he's not bound by the rationality of modern thought. It appears that James Hart took this idea and drew it out to the logical conclusion: making Van Helsing a loon. And, honestly, there's nothing more amusing that watching Hopkins grind against Bill Campbell's leg, shouting, "Your precious Lucy will be a bitch of the devil!"

- While I do have a recording of Adam Ford reading "You Should Have Killed the Monkey First," what I really long for is a recording of Emily Perkins reading it. I'm certain she'd get all of the turns right. Either her or Marianne Faithful.

Yea, that's the conclusion that I've come to...both work together robot

Huh, as I recall, i was precisely because Helsing was the scientific one, ready to analyze how magic worked, etc... I wouldn't have called him irrational. Isn't he the one that demands that they put together all of their recordings, for instance, to create a detailed record to use to figure things out?
