Hey everybody

My thesis is finally written. I celebrated by actually taking Saturday off. I went shopping and got some killer shirts and ties. Now I just have to pick one of them to wear for my thesis defense on Wenesday. I have it narrowed down to two, both of which have French cuffs, so I can wear the black jade cufflinks my girlfriend brought me from a town near the jade mines in Guatemala. Maybe I'll post some pictures and you guys can help me pick out my outfit.

Thanks to everybody for their recent words of encouragement. I've really been through hell trying to get this done. Even my boss thought I was working too much. I'm glad it's almost over, but I fear I'll be a complete spaz until Wednesday afternoon. Wednesday at 10, I'm giving an hour-long talk on my data, which is open to the public, so there will be lots of other students there, as well as faculty and postdocs and such. After that, I'll adjourn in private with my thesis committee, so they can badger me for a while.

I expect it all to go well. Thesis committees don't agree to letting you defend unless they are planning on passing you, but it's still pretty stressful for me. I can't wait until it's all over.

Oh, and the Supremes are fucking awesome.
