Hey Everyone, I hope you've been having a good Christmas.
I've been enjoying the time off with my lady, and am doing a yoga course up until 8pm New Years Eve; the last day we'll be fasting too, so a great way to start the year ahead.
Portrait work is on a rest period at the moment while a few things change for me, but I recently took this portrait of a friend of mine who's a good indie film director, Umut Gunduz. As a photographer I enjoy drawing on my background in psychology and meditation, and helping to express something about the person in front of me. Here I enjoy the combination of masculine qualities, along with a receptiveness.
A bit of a side note, but I feel it's important we see more images of whole people, not stereotyped, type-cast caricatures of maleness and femaleness, and I feel this portrait moves towards expressing something deeper than that.
