I'm re-decorating my study/studio at the moment and it's giving me some more creative space, which is a blessing . . . now I just have to deal with my resistance to just knuckling down and doing the work. With all the weird things that I've experienced so far, it's strange for me to admit to myself that I'm afraid to just sit down and drawn, or stand up and paint, to face that blank canvas, and really try to pour myself into the work.

But I am.

Everyday.

So I think about people like this

And take a deep breath. brace myself, and try and put my best foot forward. In the end, I don't want my work to be about my emotions, my struggles, but if I don't acknowledge them they can rob me quicker than I even realize.

love that drawing, really nice depth. I always like "clearing the decks", as my mum would probably say, before getting down to work (like wot i'm supposed to be doing at the moment lol) it does help me get my brain thinkin straight. Having a nice fresh clear studio can only help I'm sure. I know what you mean about just "getting on" with things, that's always such a hurdle to get over. I'm a terrible one for writing lists and just never getting anything done!
You keep putting that best foot forward, but remember to follow it up with the other one! ... one step at a time smile
