The world was strange for me today. Woke up with the overwhelming urge to find myself a road. A road i might drive upon alone. One that would take me to a place similar to the way i think i see and feel. I found that place. Found it right where i had left it, far too long ago.

This place..

these rocks
these skies
these trees,
this forgotten portrait of earth.

They own me now

and i guess they always will.


For like the river longs to lose itself
again into the sea

Forever there among them now
i too
shall long

to somehow always be.


I've never felt that i've ever even remotely somewhat belonged. Even as a child, i've always felt that i had been taken from somewhere else entirely, merely left here just to wait. Left here.. lost here.. never knowing home. I went for that road trip yesterday. Found my way back up to Joshua Tree. Watched the sun set, counted stars. The ground speaks to me up there. The rocks, the trees, the air. Its an ancient place. Left now only with the hearts of mountains once great, majestic, tall. They warm me when i visit them. Never leave me cold. So forever shall i love them.. forever are they home.
