Funny how we as humans feel the need to label damn near everything we can think of, see, or merely just imagine. I have this like 7ft tall hand carved wooden statue of Buddha as a young man, that i waited years to have. So finally i negotiate a reasonable price with the shop owners and the statue is finally mine. Why did i want the statue more than i wanted anything in quite some time?? Because it's beautiful and it symbolizes man's overwhelmingly desperate search for something... anything to teach us more than we feel we are able to achieve on our own. So a few friends came over last night, and one of my buddies ask me am i Buddhist now. I say no i'm not, and he replies, "Then why the FUCK would you waste that kind of money on a freaking Buddhist statue then?!!!"

Obviously there was nothing i could say to make him understand. Some people search harder and longer than others, and some people i believe are so frightened of what they think they might find, that they never search at all.

Me on the other hand... like so many before me, beside me, and 100,000 years from where i currently stand, are not afraid of what they might someday find, or of the solitude the searching might sometimes bring.

So i read...

look up to the stars each night...

and look forward each day not to the answers i might find, but to the questions within me the mere act of searching does somehow satisfy.

I'm glad you got what you wanted and you're open-minded enough to know there is more to discover.

Go search. I like your line of thought... I'm in search myself... Of all kinds of things. And I hope I never find the final answer to anything - that'd be a fucking boring life! tongue
