Dialling numbers on this thing gave my mum fits back in the day.
Blu Ray emerged victorious from that engagement.
Back in the seventies and eighties, the same thing went down between competing video cassette recorders.
It was Beta vs VHS in the ultimate deathmatch.
To quote Optimus Prime in Transformers The Movie, "One shall stand, one shall fall."
Funny story: Beta was technically the superior technology but film studios supported VHS.
Today, entire generations no longer know the phrase Be Kind Rewind.
It's a tragedy.
