Taking my friend to get her first tattoo today! If the guy turns out to be any good I might set up my own appointment because most Korean tattoo artists are complete shit. The ink is bad, the work is bad, the sanitation is bad.
It's not really their fault though. They're so taboo here that with the exception of a few underground shops, tattooing in public has only been around for about 10 years in the mainstream. Before that it was all military boys getting inked while on duty. Not the most artistically diverse crowd. Still, things are looking up as more and more Koreans are getting amazing work done here and in Japan. The local shops are just hard to find that do quality work. I'm keeping my fingers crossed this turns out to be one!
