troubles and triumphs
Current mood: discontent
And trumpets blare. I finally figured out my wireless network. It took me a while to get it all set up since i had to do it without the setup program given to me by Linksys since i have a mac. anyway, that was a lot of freaking frustration and 2 weeks worth of work, getting internet in my room. after going to the internet providers actual physical building to pick up my modem on friday and buying a few other wires, i now have it all working and its really nice. what a weekend project. Besides that, i volunteered for most of the day. There is a historical museum at this old frontier military post named Fort Concho. Its about 10 minutes away from where i live. all of the typical helpers and guides are retired and since its summer, they are visiting children and grandchildren etc etc so they are really stretched thin. So i did a quick 5 minute crash course in the history of the medical building and started giving little tours of the old hospital that they have restored. It was a pretty interesting time, talking to all sorts of odd folks. I never thought people actually went to those museums and things but i guess i was wrong. i generally am interested in history and tradition etc etc so i liked it quite a bit.
I went to a fast food joint called Wienersnitzel today. They make chili cheese hot dogs. I wanted a regular plain hotdog but apparently that was too much to ask and they couldnt figure out how to do that so all i got was one with a ton of messy chilly and cheese. kinda odd but not bad.'
earlier this week me and a friend baked cookies. most guys think baking is for girls, and i suppose traditionally it is. but i like cookies and usually few girls volunteer to make them so i used to resort to making them myself.
Last friday i picked up a package from my grandma and it too was cookies. damn were they good. i brought them to class so i could get rid of them and not become obese. now everyone loves my grandma.
I have picked up the nickname sweet pea and bambi. my friends were gonna call my sweet pete but just shortened it. i told my other friend just to call me by another nick nname from a debate camp. so its really kinda odd getting either yelled out across a field when someone is trying to get a hold of me. oh well.
i used to use juno internet but it only works with dialup which i no longer use. so i tried to cancel it today and no shit, i was on hold for 30 minutes (i set the phone down and was dicking around online and i could still hear the background music.) and finally just hung up.
I think i have a PT contest this monday, but i dont knnow for sure. i think i might do alright. if i am doing fine, i think i can do a 100 pushups in 2 minutes and 105 situps in 2 minutes. i will have to see if i can do that or not
