What do you do when someone you love more then anything in the world is being hurt by someone else (a boyfriend to be exact)
you know he has no where to go because his parents disowned him for religious reasons
and he has no friends because he has secluded himself from becoming friends with people

he hits her and says mean things, but only when he is angry, 90% of the time he is happy and loving... what do you do??

darkangelazrael:
There is only one time it is okay to hit someone of the opposite sex and that is during sex when the other person is explicit in telling you he or she wants it. There is no way justify abuse. I don't care it is only .001% of the time. It is simply not right and points to flaws in a psyche that may be more than harmful or downright dangerous. Now, on to what you can do. Not much. You can't MAKE choices for the people around you. You can't make it all better. What kind of love are we talking about? Are you intimately in love with your friend or just love like family? If you are intimately involved things get much harder to do. Anything you do can be conceived as trying to mettle for you own sake and interests. If it is just a friendly love then you have to at least speak to your friend. You have to speak to your friend none the less. No matter what kind of love you have for this person. But it can be harder given the situation. All you can really do is try to help them see they are worth so much more than what they are getting right now. And if the abuse is bad i mean on the bad side of the spectrum like leaving welts bruises and breaking skin etc. then maybe getting the law involved would be warranted. But really, you do need to talk to your friend. Let them know what they are worth to you and that they are lessening themselves by staying in a caustic relationship. And try to be as understanding as possible and be there to hold and hug and maybe say nothing more at all. Just let this person know that you are NEVER far from them and would believe them no matter what about anything they may want to talk about. Dang i am getting very long winded here. Seriously, if you want to talk more about this just send me a message. I will listen and try to understand it. I have been through just about anything you can think of and tend to be a good springboard for everyone else around me. lol. Take care OK?? and have as good a week as you can.

Sincerely, Ron.

Urge her to call a domestic abuse counselor and they can instruct her on what to do. No one is abusive 100% of the time, but abuse is abuse is abuse etc. being angry does not give someone a right to hit their partner.
