Jerrys on the bed, straddling his pants, his knees wide. The scissors are in his hands and beads of sweat appear on his forehead. Hes cut off one leg of his jeans and started to cut the other, the new cut is too short. Hes going to have to adjust. And the first cut was oh-so-perfect. He stands up and almost picks the jeans up off the bed to hold them against his waist again, but no, that could ruin everything, destroy the whole dynamic. The secret is to just go in and do it, to cut, adjust, realign, cut. He snips the scissors once just to hear the sound, and he goes back in.
