I've had really bad wrist cramps when I had shitty lecturers in some of my classes - shitty in the sense that their handouts had nothing on it and they said a ton of other important stuff that you had to write down. It's not fun, but it did go away once the lecturers got better.
I'm jealous that you're seeing Dropkick Murphys (that was your ticket right?) - their music is really unique, and I'm definitely a fan.
