Revolutionary oath

Tonight we regroup our thoughts
and push for a brighter tomorrow
the weight of this worlds rests firmly on our shoulders
rich or poor, black or white, male or female
its salvation is linked too us all

there will be no society to build from the ashes of the old
unless someone lights that first match
and who better than us
those you...

Woke up at 6:30 am after a very uneventful plane ride.

I started on the email frantically trying to sort through the 342 messages I had sitting in my inbox in one of my 5 email accounts. If they were rather hastily formed and clumsy I appologise and have only my weary eyes...

hey, sent you an email. would love to grab some java or chill this week. just home from vacation at the moment, and trying to get back to reality (painful!) so let me know when you're free.
also, are you going to NCOR? Have you gone in the past? I'm looking to go to DC at some point in Feb. anyway, and was wondering if it might be worth it to build my trip around the conference...

It's my birthday and I am dressed like Johnny Cash. Life is pretty good.

Well, you wonder why I always dress in black,
Why you never see bright colors on my back,
And why does my appearance seem to have a somber tone.
Well, there's a reason for the things that I have on.

I wear the black for the poor and the beaten down,...

Come, said my soul,
Such verses for my Body let us write, (for we are one,)
That should I after return,
Or, long, long hence, in other spheres,
There to some group of mates the chants resuming,
(Tallying Earth's soil, trees, winds, tumultuous waves,)
Ever with pleas'd smile I may keep on,
Ever and ever yet the verses owning--as, first, I here and now
Signing...

I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by
madness, starving hysterical naked,
dragging themselves through the negro streets at dawn
looking for an angry fix,
angelheaded hipsters burning for the ancient heavenly
connection to the starry dynamo in the machinery of night,
who poverty and tatters and hollow-eyed and high sat
up smoking in the supernatural darkness of
cold-water flats floating across the...

it was just recently the 50th anniversary of the first public reading of "howl." neato, huh? i love that poem. let's rock sf for sure this week (after my midterm tho, mkay?).
i also have a cool idea for an action in sf... i'm gonna really get to work after boreal day of action. you just know you wanna be one of my support people. it might be even more cheerful than balloons. smile

No worries...I was a mess, so its probably good that no one but my friend saw me in that state!

Back in Edmonton.

Had fun climbing in my front yard the other day. I love being able to climb trees. Its so great to be high above the air, hanging looking at the world upside down.

Did you know that is how howler monkeys decide if you are friend or foe. They hang upside down and look at you. If you are a friend they...

thanks for your words... it was exactly what I needed to read upon returning home this afternoon. you have no idea. i shall commence bathing, tree-hugging and flower smelling immediately. the cheering up will follow, i'm sure. btw, i really liked "copy left"...

also: I'm presenting to a student group monday night. I'll let you know how it goes and I'll probably have a tentative fall schedule by end of next week. the guy who runs this one club seemed pretty stoked on the idea.
see you in Alberta! three weeks! woo hoo! (I'll also have flight info for you this week)

hope all's well in your world, and thanks again. peace.

I haven't climbed trees since I was really little. I mostly remember it being rather painful to climb conifers. Pointy!

Well my time in San Fran has turned around.

Yesterday I toured the mission with one of my co-workers. Went to Zeigeist and the Uptown, saw amazing works of graffitti and a nice relaxing night.

Today started with a nice Breakfast at Dolores Park Cafe. After breakfast I went to a garage sale where I picked up the "Electric Koolaid Acid Test" a very nice...

Went out to Jasper this weekend deep in the heart of the Rocky Mountains and had a fabulous time. It was great to take some days off and just relax.

Day 1: Drove out, playing great tunes and driving faster than Smoky the bandit. Went to Miette hotsprings and soaked all my stress into the water.

Day 2: Drove out to Mt. Robson. Did a...

Sounds like a lot of fun. White water rafting is totally nature's version of rollercoasters in my mind. Although I've never actually done the "rafting." Class three rapids in a canoe, yes (and it was wicked fun even the few times I ended up swimming), but not in a raft.

there was this one time where i lived very close to jasper... oh wait thats right now. thats too bad you couldnt have come over to say hello while you were in town.

I love San Fran! The weather, the sun, the food and beautiful people everywhere.

I was down at City Hall today to help get the Sweatshop Free by-law passed. The room was packed and it looks like it will eventually go through -- YEE HAW!!

Also had a snack with BellJar She is absolutely fabulous and can't wait to coordinate the environmental revolution together.

Tomorrow...
