Pesticide Blockade
Winnipeg Sun Article - This is a little biased. The blockade I was a part of lasted over an hour with wonderful people in gas masks and drums. Stay tuned for the next post about today's sit-in/street theatre.

Well I have survied the muddest (most amazing) folk festival in recent memory. 4 days of camping on-site, dancing and singing till dawn on top of mud and below lighting filled skies is my idea of a good time. Feist, Kinnie Star, the Be Good Tanyas, Ricky Skaggs, Bo Dollis, Dr. John, Xavier Rudd, and Emmylou Harris all performing on a site full of hippies,...

Got back from the fabulous time at the SG party in Calgary. Had a great time meeting everyone. Special thanks to Coriander for offering up her futon.

Today I am back in Edmonton. The next few days will be a little hectic but I am hoping to have some downtime before I head off to the folk fest in winnipeg. I can't wait to see...

Life is good just moved out of my house and into a new place although likely doing a lot of travelling next month (winnipeg and san franscisco for some climb training) so won't be here much.

Take a look in my...

Edmonton in nice and sunny today and so is life for the most part. I will be off to Winnipeg in a few days to do some organizing on the boreal forest.

I am hoping to meet up with some of the sg'ers there and then come back for the sg canada celebration festivities in calgary. Anyone else celebrating the solstice? canada day? july 4th?...

Back in Edmonton again although not for long. After hanging from the buildings in Montreal I went off to San Franscisco, the city by the bay for a job interview with an activist organization.

It looks like I will be able to fight the good fight a little longer and even get paid for it. eeek

So I am off to San Franscisco in August (if...

The last few days have been a frantic rush. Days that remind you just how incredible life can be. Times that whisper secrets in your ear and make you mad with the frenzy that is painted in every street corner.

The streets dance with colour. The erotic dream is at once awakened and real. People speak in tongues, yearning to breathe one immortal breath that...

The last few days have been absolutely crazy but they are days that remind you that you are truly alive and just leave you breathless wanting more.

Two of my friends were released from custody last week without charges for locking themselves down to a podium a the global forestry summit. There activities were part of three days of protest that saw stiltwalkers, carnival bands,...

But, first there are a few rules:
1-You must be a member of SG for at least 60 days.
2-No journal entry? No fisting group.
3-You must have comments in other groups.

Be more active on SG and I'll approve you.

So as some of you know I have been touring around giving presentations on the threats to our forest and how to save them.

The trip has been amazing so far. It's is so great to be in the mountains again. The air is so clear, rivers that are still drinkable and a scenary that takes your breathe away every time you look at it....

Hey,

I noticed that you've started some good topics in Culture Jamming - when i took over group leadership, i tried to start more discussion, but the group never really took off, and now i find i dont have much time to keep up with updating. However, as long as you think you could do a better job than me, I was wondering whether you wanted to be the new group owner? I'd still be around and post, but I'm not sure I can do the group justice as owner. I have three other groups too, and keeping up with current culture jamming topics is a mite difficult.

However, if you want it, its yours. smile
