Today was a much needed break...with a beautiful thunderstorm desert rain rainbow and sunset - i can't really find words to describe the beauty of it. There were about 20 or more of us on the roof of the vaults (these huge dome structures) just in awe.

In a few days I fly to Germany for a vacation and then to be a climb trainer...

Somewhere in the moonlight
dreamers forget their dreams.
They wander around,
restless as the coming day

They wait for the moment
their eyes will open
and a million realities
will disappear into a single sunrise

Who told us we could not walk on water
or fly above the skies like eagles?
Who was it that constrained our hopes
before they could breathe in the day?...

Life, that indecribable balance between love and laughter, sadness and pain.

A Great Loneliness of the Spirit

A great loneliness of spirit that is what Chief Seattle warned would happen if we did not take care of the land. I have contemplated these words several times in my life but never did I truly understand them. Not until I stood on top of a mountain that was simply not there.

I wish that I could say...

The past few days I have spent in New York City meeting with 32 other young people ready to change the world. I have felt hopeful seeing a widening, silver lining through the clouds that stand all around.

I wonder if we will be able to wake up this world in time before the next generation is stripped of any hope of a sustainable future....

Our time here is magic! It's the only space you have to realize whatever it is that is beautiful, whatever is true, whatever is great, whatever is potential, whatever is rare, whatever is unique, in. It's the only space.

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,
there is a field. I'll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass,

Where is the world of dreams?
The one I had in my youth
where all possibilities lay before me
and the world seemed so large

The last few weeks have been a frenzy, a wild blur through the madness of the world.

Here is a brief update of what has past and what lurks on the horizon.

April 23- 26th - Meetings with Ford, Nike, Unilever and Coke about how they can stop being assholes and ruining the planet.

April 26th - 28th - Climbing with Greenpeace and enjoying the...

There was an interesting documentary on television recenetly, W5, Fifth of State, I'm not sure which because I came in halfway through, but it was discussing America's oil addiction and Brazil's independence from the world oil market due to Ethonol blends created from sugarcane, which in itself quite remarkable.
However the part I found informative was GM's straight shootin spokesperson who explained why ethonol burning, fuel efficient cars aren't available in Canada and the US. He said it quite bluntly, "Fuel efficiency is poor because cars are gettting bigger (SUV's) and we'll keep selling those cars because there is a demand for them."
Now I'm not normally one to be spoon fed my information by big business, but I found that statement made good common sense to me. In that case it's not car companies that are to blame, but instead it's consumer america that doesn't care about the enviroment.

I find myself in a waking dream. The world warm and surreal all around me. Everywhere I look the brightness of dreams claiming the moon soaked night.

Days spent in trees hanging from limbs. Emersed in the beauty of a world not yet mad. The rain coaxes my skin like a lover. Till we are both drenched in eachothers flesh.

I laugh and the world...

The last few days have been spent in the trees. Training another generation of activists. Giving them another tool to put in their toolbox to use to build a new world.

It was refreshing to once again find myself amoungst the leaves. Surrounding by all that is living. Reminding myself of what we are fighting for. The group I was with some of the most...
