There is an open war between Trekies and Star Wars fans. Although I'm in Star Wars side myself I must admit I watched all Star Trek films (except the last of Next Generation, because I rather Picard being Charles Xavier), and I've been all my life in secret crush with Spock character.
And not only for the pointed ears.

You don't realize the moment when Saylar starts being Spock, it just happens around the middle of the movie. I was a bit afrad this JJ Abrahams "What if" ended up with Spock sitting himself into de USS Enterprise Capitain's chair (after spreading some glue in it). If this "First Contact" happened before the real "First Contact" (and I don't mean the Borgs), anything could happen. Is JJ Abrahams we're talking about.
I wondered a lot about Sayl... er... Spock character. He's suppoused to be half human, though, he was raised in Vulcan, witch makes me think that blood cells count more than raising. I remember Shatner calling Nimoy "more human than humans" and Spock rising a disaproving eyebrow. Nimoy was the weight of the serie, of course. He's even listed in the first place on imdb.
He (Nimoy) appears when I was wondering "where the fuck is Scotty! Teach this russian guy how to teleport for god's sake!!". Is not that I have anything against russians, but last time I saw Aanton Yelchin on a screen he was stabbing a girl and covered in blood in one of the best Criminal Minds episodes of second season. I have the hardest time trying to spare the characters from the actors: once you recognize Hulk out of Nero's face you're done. Hey Kirk, Eomer is about to puke all over you.
