Last night I met several very cool individuals associated with SG. Cool and Individual are the operative words here. It's fascinating how a group of people with a common link can still be so unique. And I don't just mean unique in terms of the little group we comprised Sunday night, but unique in terms of the entire pool of people I've ever met. Who knew that donkey was SF's own superhero, battling against crime and injustice? If I had a sister I'd set her up with liltuffy because he has such a great aura. Kind of calm and aware at the same time. What can I say about O and s5? They have impeccable taste in electronics! I think I may have to send a note to O letting her know that the pictures of O on the site don't do O justice. And Dia... I can't even begin to rectify her soft-spoken near-timidity with her abundant self-confidence and sanguinity. I met some other cool people last night too, but I'm not sure whether or not they have a connection to the site.

It was a very nice end to a somewhat heartbreaking weekend. Spending time with my family for Father's Day reminded me how the base of stability I relied upon while growing up is slowly eroding. I have been truly blessed with a family whose members are all very reasonable, caring, understanding people who actually get along well with each other. The heartbreaking part is seeing my 92 year-old grandmother, with whom I am very close, slowly deteriorate. This was the first time in almost three months that I went home to visit and I feel horrible about that fact - it's only a three hour drive. I should go back this weekend.

I think I should now say something to amuse myself. "Blarg!" Ha! That's always good for a laugh!

That is unquestionably the most sumptuous and possibly apropos compliment I've ever received, and means so much more to me then very many that I've heard in my time. It WAS such a great evening, I would've really liked to have stayed longer... I stopped in for a second from my moving business... I would never belabour your back! Poor, sweet thing for offering though! I CAN do it all! (riiiiiiiight).

I know how you feel about your grandmother. I don't like to talk about it, but I am in the same position. Visit as much as you can. I need to get back East. I was thinking of taking my grandmother in, actually, although I know she wouldn't come... I'd really like her to. The people brought us up, took us in to the world, we should carry them out just as gently and with as much love as they gave us as babies.

A big hug.

There are all sorts of things I could say, but I'll leave it at this:

Thanks for the hug.
