Going to a show later tonight. Hope it'll be worthy of my attendance--I mean, I hope it's a good one. Haven't heard of any of the bands though--Your Ex Hero, Petalshelf, and Hero 9. Have you? I think Petalshelf is local, because they're playing a show with Further Down around here somewhere. But I'm not positive. They'd all better be good though, or else.

On...

No, see, room service is the problem. I spend too much on it. And it keeps me in the room instead of out in that city I've yet to explore. wink

I worked 36 hours this weekend (Fri.-Sun.). I was so tired that I didn't get up until 4 p.m. today--that's 14 hours I was recuperating from ridiculous fatigue. It's not happening again, though, ever. If I were going to school this semester, it would've amplified everything I was feeling (mainly just tiredness, because I was too zoned out to feel anything else).

Besides that, I...

Can't say I hate it, but it most certainly does have it's down moments.
taoshen:
Too hell with that. wink

First one to ask since I became single again ... even if she never calls, major ego boost. biggrin

I saw a couple of films tonight, and since I have nothing better to post, I thought I should update with that little tidbit of excitement.

First up was The Incredibles, which was very solid. I've never thought a Pixar flick was awesomely amazing and fantastic, but I've always thought they at least earned the description of "pleasant." And The Incredibles follows in Pixar's...

If you like Ghost World, you should check out American Splendor. A true story about Harvey Peakar who wrote comic books about his everyday life in the 70's. It doesn't sound that interesting but it is.
taoshen:
More and more people are telling me that is striking a familiar chord. Geez, I didn't know I had so much company. smile

Maybe we should start a support group... nah, we should just keep meeting here. tongue

I do trust you guys ... It's not always a person can step in, pretty much unknown, into a group of existing friends and just say "hi" with no introduction. Every one of you has made me feel welcome.

Right now I'm designing a Web site for a good friend of mine. He's a hip-hop artist, and actually very good. He and his partner are trying to make it in this tiny state, and we're trying all we can in getting publicity. So I thought a Web site would be a pretty good idea. When it's finished there'll be samples and songs available for...

First, notepad? Damn good job for notepad.

Second, was referring more to if you were gonna give it a PHP or PERL front end and a PostGRESQL or MySQL backend ...

Extermely nice job to not be using an HTML editor ... smile

thanks for the weekend encouragement. I took zero pics while in New Orleans (I suck) so no 'Z' photos to share frown

My computer died like three weeks ago and I just now got it fixed. I've been without the Internet for 3 weeks and I'm almost drained because of it. That's kinda sad, isn't it?

During that time period, my mom went to the hospital for chest pains and got admitted to put in a pacemaker/defibrillator (which helps with her heart because she has congestive heart...

wow, I'm glad to hear things are good with your mom. Must have been very emotional there for a few days.

No internet for 3 weeks?!? and you're still sane? Good to see you made it back.
taoshen:
Very cool that your mom made it through that alright. Always hard when a loved one goes through something like that.

You survived 3 weeks without internet? Dude, that's number one on your list of things you can't live without...

But at least you have three weeks of SG to catch up on ... eeek

New music update:

The Shins' Chutes Too Narrow: Amazing. I'd heard "Pink Bullets" a while back, but it took me a little bit to pick the CD up, and I can't believe I waited this long. It's the best album I've bought in a long time. Low-key pop songs that are actually intelligent are a nice find indeed! Recommended songs: "Pink Bullets," "So Says...

I think it should be made mandatory for everyone in the U.S. to work in a restaraunt for at least one month. Sort of like compulsory military service is in some countries. The only way you could get out of this restaraunt service is if you're physically or mentally unable to perform the required duties. Why should this happen? Because people are ignorant of how...

here here!!! I concur!!!
haven't technically worked in a restaurant, but I did work banquets for a convention center. Set-up, break down, and food service duties. Staying late always sucked, but I think it hurt less when the overtime kicked in... biggrin

thanks for the idea. I'll try it and see if my technology-deficient skills can understand exactly how it works. Have you tried posting anything?
oldzork:
Hey... glad you like the brick building. I'll see what I can do about interesting cloud patterns next time... wink

Aha. I got a couple of pictures. That was hard work, but I managed to do it. Now I don't necessarily feel so creepy not having a profile picture anymore. ARRR!!!

what kind of camera did you decide on?

So I signed up for a Gmail invitation some time ago, so long ago that I've forgotten how long it actually was. Between then and now I'd kinda forgotten all about that crazy thing, until not too long ago when I received an invitation. So I checked it out, and it's so awesome. I don't see myself going back to Hotmail for my primary account...

gmail, huh? never heard of it. Might have to pop over to their site and check it out.

I got a Fuji 3100 about 4 months ago. It's 4 megapixil and feels good in the hand, but I'm not sure it was the best choice. I bought it based on price and not so much on quality. I could have gotten a 35mm of excellent quality for the same price I paid for this one.

Live and learn, I guess... Now I've got to develop some skills at using the thing.

About 12 hours ago I turned 20. It feels weird to not be able to say "-teen" as the suffix to my age anymore. But this point had to come some day. I just don't think I'm ready for my twenties yet!

I watched Hero a while ago. What a splendid movie. The cinematography totally stole the show, but it was well-done everywhere elsewhere as...

Hey -- thanks a bunch for the camera suggestion!

And happy day after your birthday! Don't feel bad, I'm closer to 30 than I am 20 and I still don't feel any different from when i was 16.
remyx:
belated happy b-day, man.

Twenty is nothing... trust me. It's all about thow you percieve yourself. And now your one year closer to 21. biggrin
