*sigh*

Looks like I'm saying goodbye to the weekend. Civilization IV is now installed on my computer.

Soon, the Mongol Hordes of the Great Khan shall be riding throughout the entire world. The people of the world shall be united under the Banner of the Eternal Blue Sky!

Sometimes I wonder what effect my favourite bands, movies, books, and artists has on what people think about who and what I am. When I look at someone's profile, I check to make sure there aren't any things that I greatly dislike and actively avoid, but other than that, I don't really figure any of that into whether or not I think they're interesting or...

This weekend was a working weekend. Our group of native bands got together at the third Annual General Meeting to discuss the treaty that we're currently involved with. It spanned a grand total of two days from morning until late afternoon and was full of information sessions, question and answer periods, as well as cultural sessions about past leaders. At its peak, there were roughly...

The Exorcism of Emily Rose was pretty good, though I suppose I can understand the "Either You Love It or Hate It" mentality that I seem to be encountering online and offline.

I just saw Lord of War, and it was excellent. Easily one of my favourite movies of the year. Other than that, I plan on buying another suit and perhaps some more...

Ended up watching Transporter 2 last night. It was passable, but I liked the first movie a bit better. The CGI was lackluster, and there were a few moments that had me rolling my eyes. Overall, I didn't feel like I wasted my money, but it was cheap night...

So I ended up seeing that friend in Victoria, and I must say I was slightly disappointed with how it turned out. I haven't seen her in a few (?) years and I though I was glad to see her, I was hoping to go out for something to eat and then a coffee shop or something. Instead, I ended up at her place and...

So I'm headed to see an old friend in Victoria tomorrow evening. I'm trying to make some calls in order to set up a morning and/or afternoon meeting in order for the mileage to be covered through my job -- and get some work done in a town with members I've been trying to track down since I started working. Don't know what the hell...

You know you're a geek when you devour a novel like 1632 by Eric Flint. I love history, and I love such unapologetic geekery like this very book.

I've already bought the second book in this series, 1633, though I figure I should stick to my gameplan of one fiction book then one non-fiction book.

I have to put a dent in my reading...

gumshoe:
I more have the problem of trying to read three or four books at once. Getting particularly caught up in one and never finishing the others.
reprisal:
Yeah, I've had that sort of problem for quite a while... I've never been much for any sort of consumer discipline and it shows in how I haphazardly read the books I buy.

I stuck to my plan and started reading a non-fiction book yesterday, though: Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly.

It's pretty damn good so far...
