I have an awful cold and a new pink shirt for Christmas. I was sick for the entire 4 day holidaze extravaganza, but I soldiered through it because I have a titanium heart full of ball bearings and springs. Hear that rattle???
Work tomorrow, after a four-day weekend, is going to suck. 2010 is going to be a year of transition for me. I think I will probably change jobs, I've been here almost 6 years and it's just not what I envisioned. They want me to be Mr. Everything and they want to pay me Flunky wages. I'm an engineer goddamit, not an accountant, not a mechanic, not a bad news deliverer, not a hand holder. I should have stuck to it at 24 and written the great American Novel. That or just played Poker for the rest of my life and slept with showgirls and barmaids, and drank Scotch till I died at 50, or maybe, maybe.... I should have moved to Montana and lived in the woods with HER. And now she's back and she lives 10 minutes away, and I feel like she circles me waiting to SMASH me again.
