He went on for hours and never really gave me a why. Lots of nonsense about genetics and choice and religion and the will of the majority and all sorts of other things, but he never once said "I don't think gay people should be allowed to marry because" and followed through with concrete reasons. With the admission that my reasoning may have seemed just as ridiculous to him, I have to say that I was astonished and dismayed that a person could be so steadfast against granting basic rights to their fellow man, and at the same time so utterly incapable of articulating why.

Every time I am feeling lonely and miserable I email my first boyfriend from high school. Just don't email her back if she responds, delete it. That's what I did last time, because I finally realized that he doesn't talk to me, he just responds to me, and it was pointless.

I'm going through an odd phase of cautious positivity.
Life is feeling pretty good.
And Sarah called again.
She's aparently been really stressed out and working like 36-hour days. But that's all over and I get to see her next week. We'll see how that goes.
