OH MY GOD!
I just found out that through some massive oversight, the bank I work for hasn't blocked SG on its intranet. This is awesome. I'm only working here four more days, but for those days, I'm not going to get anything done!
So Paris was effing amazing! We kept kind of a breakneck pace, being out of the apartment like 15 hours a day. We saw all the touristy things, like the Champs Elysees, the Louvre, the Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower (our flat had a great view of it, too!), Notre Dame, Sacre Couer, the Pompideau, the Musee d'Orsay (sorry to all Francophones for butchering your language). We also went to this big park on the outskirts of the city with a zoo (Carla's face lights up like a little kid's when she's around animals; it's the most adorable thing I've ever seen.) and a big island with crazy gardens and a little hollowed-out cave by the lake with a tiny waterfall inside, and a really upscale jazz club where I drank a $50 glass of scotch. All in all, it was an amazing trip. Nothing physical happened between us. I did, however, say the big three to her. Well, actualy, the big five. I added " 'm in" and "with" to the "I love you." Her response? "Wow. That must be really difficult for you. I think you're handling it pretty well, all things considered." Anyway, nothing really happened. But the night before we went home she was complaining that her feet hurt. She was laying on her bed, so I laid down at the end of her bed and started giving her a footrub. She got really relaxed and told me that I should start charging people for footrubs. After a while she started drifting off. I curled up next to her and kissed her on the cheek and put a hand on her waist. Then she rolled over into spooning position and pulled my arm around her waist. We just napped there like that for a while, and it was... really sweet.
When we came back, she had a job offer in Seattle. She'll be going home to Maryland on June 24th, and to Seattle directly from there. It makes me sad, but we talked about it in Paris, and she promised that she would not lose touch with me, and we promised that we would someday go to Prague together. I've still got this funny feeling that someday she'll realize what a great guy I am and decide she wants to be with me.
*sigh* I will miss her.
Anyway, on a lighter note, and to keep my mind off it, here's my list of non-Carla-related things to be excited about this month.

6/15 My last day in hell (this job)
6/18 Medication day (I start antidepressants)
6/21 My first day in Paradise (new job)

Last night I drank too many stouts at Bukowski's, smoked too many cigarettes, and bought too many pitchers of PBR at Devlin's. Then I went home and
'd until three AM and woke up at six for work. Today I developed an unhealthy addiction to tropical fruit Life Savers.

Anyway, man, I'm glad you had a fun trip. Sometimes little things like sleeping next to each other, while cuddling, is better than dirty sweaty sex....sometimes..... I hope you two manage to keep in touch.
Hmmm... I can't wait for the new Michael Moor movie either!
