Apparently I misunderstood what she meant the other day. Now she's saying that it's not that she has a problem with me because I'm white. She has a problem trusting me in a dating relationship because I'm white, and she's not used to seeing white people the way she sees me, and trusting them to be understand and be respectful in the way she thinks she trusts me to be. She says that I challenge her in beliefs a way she hasn't encountered before, and that her reluctance to date white guys a problem that I make her want to work on, although working on it may not come quickly. I'll be damned if that doesn't make the situation sound a lot more understandable...
