An old but fun game.
Put all of your MP3's your playlist and play them randomly. List the first 10 that it plays.

From my meager collection:

[B ]1. Voltaire - Snakes
What a great song. Definitely
some of my favorite Voltaire lyrics.

2. Wolfsheim - Touch
When Lucy was a kitten we'd
dance to this. She used to come
running to me when she heard it.

3. R.E.M. - Electrolite
Probably my least favorite song
that will be listed here.

4. James - Five-O
I can't describe what this song
does to me. It's quiet but powerful.

5. Sting - Shadows In The Rain
Haven't listened to this album for a
while. Not the best song on it either but
who's fault was it that I hit 'random'?
Not Sting's.

6. Concrete Blonde - Joey
Of all the great music they've done
it had to play the overplayed radio hit.
Nothing but love for this band.

7. The Cure - Untitled
From one of the best albums ever made.

8. David Bowie - The Voyeur Of Utter Destruction
This is from the CD titled "Outside".
I like all of his incarnations to some
degree or another but this was in my
opinion one of his best. "Giving a more
gentile feeling to Industrial Music." One
of the best songs off of it IMHO.

9. Dire Straights - So Far Away
It's ok. I like a lot of their other songs
better than this one but I'll listen to it.

10. Voltaire - They Know Me
Voltaire beat up all of the other songs
to get the first and last spot on this list.

***
For novelty's sake, number 11 was Miranda Sex Garden - Havana Lied. Not a great song either but it's from a nifty album. Peep Show is the best song from it in my book.
***

Ok your turn!

I think this is a good sampling of the music I like. I happen to have a bunch of video game music on my playlist. And when I say video game music, I mean DIRECT from the video game, not interpreted by real instruments. That's how much of a geek I am.

Also, this is a bit long, so sorry in advance for clogging up your comments.

1. Saint Etienne - Archway People
My favorite band, and a favorite song. It takes me to a certain place. I'd like to say it takes me to London, but I've never been there.

2. Final Fantasy VI - Returners
I don't remember how this song goes, but it's from my favorite Final Fantasy game (so far).

3. Panel De Pon - Opening
Purely random, the theme song of the Japanese version of a Nintendo puzzle game.

4. Saint Etienne - You're In A Bad Way
My favorite band again, and this song's okay. I like it because it's cute.

5. Bjrk - Family Tree Interview Pt 3, The Saga Idea
I'm proud of this one, and for a nerdish reason. I "acquired" the tracks from Bjrk's Family Tree boxset, and one track was an immensely long interview. I took the time to break up the interview into pieces to make it easier for people to download. To date, not a single person has downloaded it from me wink

6. Super Bomberman - Battle
Another video game. I love Bomberman but I suck at it.

7. The Sugarcubes - Fucking In Rhythm And Sorrow
The Sugarcubes are awesome, and this is an immensely silly song by them. A line from the song as illustration: "Naked man? Naked man? Come down! I'll... I'll give you some strawberry cake [etc]!"

8. Final Fantasy VI - Chocobo Forest
Yet again, Final Fantasy. And yet again, I forget how this one goes.

9. Stevie Nicks - Planets of the Universe (extended album version)
Of course Stevie made it onto the list wink This track is from a CD single, which oddly enough I think my dad bought for me (he lives 3 hours away and I don't see him often).

10. Bjrk - Where Is The Line
Bjrk again, a track from her latest album, which is almost completely a cappella. Kind of an interesting feat.

This was fun!
