Last night I had wanted to go to a place in Baltimore but weather and the continued broken status of my car didn't allow.
Instead I went to this place down the street. It was Karaoke night. Of all the songs that they could have had, they had Aenima. Yes, Aenima, by Tool.
...And I got in trouble with them for singing it! WOOT!
It wasn't because of the song itself so much, or the MC. More because the venue had asked that he let people know not to use certain words in songs. Like every other word in Aenima.
"Fuck L Ron Hubbard and Fuck all his clones. Fuck all those gun-toting hip gangster wannabe's. Yeah Fuck retro anything. Fuck your tattoos. Fuck all you junkies and Fuck your short memory."
That just made my night. The MC even came and apologized for yelling at me. I said, "Oh no. My fault. I should have asked, but didn't."
And that is the truth.
