So J-term has now ended.... and I've had the most perfect class I've ever had. Out of the *entire* class I've missed less than 10 points. I feel very proud of myself, but it's just a first step in recovery for me. I have a lot more things to do.
Today was the last day of class, and Wallace brought out the airbrush. He was explaining it all to the class while I watched, and he was going to use a girl from class as an example. Now-- airbrushing is used for either really dramatic colors and designs, or flawless beauty makeup. This girl is very focused on her appearance *coughcough* and she was going to a theatre performance that night, and wanted to not have to scrape her face to get everything clean before the show. So she freaked a little when Wallace got out the bright red paint and a skin tone color. He talked for a while and then showed how to apply foundation, and then started mixing red into the foundation (to create a blush). But while mixing in the red, he had me hold the airbrush, then told me to apply the blush while he was lecturing. This of course, made the girl VERY nervous and she started complaining. Funny... how I'm the good makeup artist, and she gets nervous. By the time I was done, she was flawless with a gentle healthy blushing glow to her cheeks. Quite lovely. I felt a bit more special because of it.. Woo! I'm the example painter while Wallace lectures.
Oh-- and speaking of my makeup workshop... I got to destroy my skin today.. or at least hurt it. Put on a full face foam urethane piece today. It was one that I had designed, sculpted, molded, and painted. I was so an extra from a really bad 80's slasher movie.. it was great. My face was sliced to ribbons. I felt special. That was, until I had to take it off, and removed my top layer of skin while I was at it... oh the pain... I need lotion... It is still stinging, and I fear that it will hurt just to lay my head down on the pillow tonight.
And I've also realised how much time I spend online at night. And how late I actually stay up. My friend Molly just called me a half an hour ago to get driving directions.. She apologized because she was worried that she was going to wake me up, but then stopped and said -- wait.. aren't you still up? and called my bluff. She also questioned my supreme direction giving skills for a place I'd never been to before. Damn.. she caught me. Either way-- yeah... so I'm awake every night till the wee hours, and all my friends know it. That and they know that I spend my hours at my laptop. Oh well. I could be staying up doing crack and smoking pot all night long. There are worse things...
Either way.. I must off to sleep soon, as I have to run some errands in the morning, and this weekend is the DT winter break! Woot! Going up to Molly's cabin this weekend.... wait.. what am I saying... I'm going up to Molly's parent's SUPER PIMP RESORT HOME up north. Yeah-- it's hot. Like the type of house people dream about. I'm excited. if I don't get back to y'all, it's because I'm up there.
have a good weekend!
