Hey all
Pippa & the puppies seem to be doing well. I've been through so many emotions since theyve been born- mostly worrying if theyre going to make it. At one point pip's milk seemed to be drying up and she wasnt eating or drinking properly. Managed to get her to accept more food & am sneakily getting more liquid into her by feeding her lactol-soaked puppy biscuits & putting goats milk in tuna. She'll drink a mixture of water & goats milk out of a bowl now & then but doesnt seem interested in water in the slightest. The pups were crying when feeding at one point which means they probably werent getting enough milk. That's now stopped & theyre feeding quietly so i think we've managed to get her milk production back up.
Life has essentially stopped as i'm caring for pip & the pups, as well as sweep & finn. At first i was getting up every 30mins to check on the pups & make sure they were feeding. Then every 2hrs. Then i slept for a 4hr block which was lovely- even had time for a dream. Lol. Now pip & pups seem to be in a good routine & im satisfied she's feeding them & keeping them warm i sleep from about 11pm til 5am & only get up if i hear the pups squeaking.
So, as you can imagine ive had no time for anything outside caring for these little miracles. I'm writing this blog to let you know i'm busy not ignorant (for this i make no apologies- the lives of these babies are more important than replying to messages).
Hopefully this blog will be sufficient to answer any curiosity as to my silence.
At some point today i hope to have time to have a shower. *sigh*
