Hey all

Ok, how unfair is this- yesterday my ex brought my car round as requested and handed the keys to my mum (I know, but I didnt want to see him- end of). He parked it in the street round the corner from the car park as the car park is tiny and not enough space for all the neighbours' cars so that was a good move.

This morning I got a phone call from the police(!) saying that a neighbour had complained my car is parked obstructing their driveway. There is no driveway outside the house in question -it is totally fenced off from the street with a little gate for people to get in and out of- her 'driveway' is actually inside her property behind a huge locked gate to the side of her house which opens onto the carpark rather than the street.

So I told the police all this. They rang her and explained she has no right to say people cant park outside her house as it's a public road so anyone can park there.

I went out afterwards and had a look. My car was parked quite close to her gate. She came out and I said I'd move it down a bit so it wasnt near her gate. She went on a tirade that it's 'always' parked there - I said that isnt true as this is the first night it has spent there as it was at my driving instructor's house instead of mine until yesterday.

I moved the car down a bit so her gate is completely unobstructed - a transit van could park there the space left is so big. I dont think this lady has a car of her own as she used the example 'what if it's raining and a taxi needs to pull up outside my house and your car is in the way'. So really what she wants is a space about two and a half car lengths long outside her house for NOBODY to park in. WHAT SENSE DOES THAT MAKE?!

I've logged it with the housing association so they know what's happened & they're emailing me later as I've asked if the street camera outside there is run by the council and monitored- want to make sure anyone going near my car is being filmed.

So that's been my morning so far - a nice call from the police (to be fair they were awesome about it and told me not to worry i'm not doing anything wrong) and being snapped at by a neighbour who seemingly just loves to complain about nothing. Pfft.

Here's hoping today gets better...

p.s. the cat did a wee somewhere on my bedroom carpet yesterday and I cant find where but the smell is driving me mad. Isnt life great...
