The New Year is coming, but is it really a 'new year'? we call it the 'New Year" but other cultures have their own time lines with separate New Year celebrations. wouldn't it be more reasonable to have the New Year start at the end of a season? Like Spring should be the start of it all, since we see this time of the year giving back life to the earth. instead we choose the dead time of the year, which to me doesn't inspire much joy and enthusiam for the coming months.
maybe that's why drinking is so heavily favored on this holiday... a little liquid happiness to blur the reality. so i'll join in again this year in celebrating.
bottoms up, keys put away, and fireworks in hand - i think i'm ready for midnight!
Be Safe, Be Smart, Be Happy! and hope like hell our government doesn't get any crazier
