No February update from me yet? It just comfirms my slacker status. Meh!

Mardi Gras has come and gone, and and unfortunately I missed the main festivities. I did atttend the ball (last post) and it was great! I didn't catch as many beads this year, but the pre-party and the after-party were killer. Nothing like Crown and Cola to make the times slip away. It also makes for a loong drive back home, turning a 6 hr trip into what seems like an all day event. I also got to attend a parade in Jefferson, TX. It was small but very energetic. I caught lots of beads this time. biggrin Supposidly Jefferson is one of the oldest cities in Texas, and because it was established when that part of Texas was under French rule, they hold on to their roots and celebrate Mardi Gras. The weather was perfect... except for the wind. I swear there were gusts up to 40 mph! I kind of wanted to get a big kite and soar into the air, then I remembered that was how some ancient Chinese were executed. Of course they cut their's loose; I would just have to rely on my friends and hope they didn't get mischevious. skull

This weekend I'm taking the bike on my first long trip. I have two concerns: the weather and my boredom threshhold. There is suppose to be a big storm rolling in and I'm hoping I can make it to my destination before it hits. I've not driven in the rain before so I'm not too thrilled. Secondly, I'm going to take a smaller highway instead of the interstate. But I might get tired of all the small towns and adding about another hour to my already 2 1/2 normal car-driving time. I may scare myself shitless going 75 next to 18-wheelers and I'd hate to end up a road pancake just yet.

I'll update Sunday if I'm still alive whatever
